『日々変化し続ける都市という存在は、自分の居場所によって、その見え方が大きく変わる現象的な存在。この作品は、人の動きや見る角度によって、存在感が増したり、周りの風景に同化して消えたりを繰り返す。それは時に高層ビルのように見え、時には何かの記号のように見え、そしてまた人影のようにも見える、まさに都市そのもの。』

この作品は、2023年に大阪の関電不動産開発株式会社が主催するコンペ「ART & CITY presents シエリアタワー中之島」でグランプリを獲得した作品。
大阪中之島の中心で川沿いに建設する４６階建の高層マンションをアートを中心にブランディングするもので、建物内外に設置するアートをコンペで公募したもの。
最終的に３名のアーティストが選ばれ、私の他に、画家、陶芸家の２名が選ばれた。
この作品は、川沿いの敷地内公開空地に設置した金属製の立体で、土台のベンチもデザインしている。

『The city, a constantly changing entity, is a phenomenon whose appearance changes dramatically depending on one's location. This artwork repeatedly increases in presence or disappears, blending into the surrounding landscape, depending on the movement of people and the viewing angle. At times it looks like a skyscraper, at other times like some kind of symbol, and at other times like a human figure—it is truly the city itself.』

This is the winning work from the "ART & CITY presents CIELIA Tower Nakanoshima" competition, hosted by Kanden Realty & Development Co.,Ltd. in Osaka in 2023.

The project involved branding a 46-story high-rise condominium building, constructed along the river in the heart of Nakanoshima, Osaka, with art as the central focus. The competition solicited submissions for artwork to be installed both inside and outside the building. Ultimately, three artists were selected: myself, a painter, and a ceramic artist.

This artwork is a metal sculpture installed in the building's public open space, and the bench at its base was also designed by Toshiki Omatsu Atelier.
